to all that suffer...

why am I once again hurting?
why does he still cause me pain?
he is no where to be seen,
yet his barbs appear
from out of no where
ripping me to shreds
from the inside out
it's been several years
healing seemed complete
then the darkness returned
now I'm tired cold and hungry
I'm not alone, but I feel alone
due to the blindness in my eyes
and the mistrust within my heart
all the while he haughtily sits
lavishly living in his own private hell
dreaming up ways to spew more poison
destroying everyone that ever touched him
since he enjoys his misery let him enjoy
I've finally realized the truth
it is I who is the fool
he told me from the start
that ruining what he didn't want
was the direction he chose to take
stating there's nothing greater than him
he truly believes that he is almighty God
I believed he really didn't mean that
but that was the only truth he ever told
forever bearing the scars the barbs cut on me
each day upon awakening, I'm reminded of the pain

Sad and painful but I think you do well to write about it and to share it. Love, peace, and healing to you,

Such gnawing pain skillfully laid in poetic words as only an artist like you can paint on the canvas of the heart! And yet the tinge of hope keeps the brush in your hand and a greater God prevents you from letting go. Beautiful write kg.

What a sad tale and a sad way to live. Time to break free and allow your soul to sour and see the light...

Be always safe,
Karen

Intense write Kathy and one I hope is no longer applied to you as the author. The bullies are out there always trying to dominate those who do not stand up to them for whatever reason...
