The passion inside me is full of rage
See the destruction that's taking place
Men climbing powerfully to reach the top
Eliminating the beauty of justice in us
Power and prestige are what they crave
Sending their followers into a deepening grave
Take their identities away from them
Leave nothing but broken dreams to mend
Faces of honesty are what we see
Speeches of integrity, they all perceive
Living a lie they surely believe
Deceiving anyone for power and greed
Rich and famous they dwell in their arrogance
Understanding not, the depths of their ignorance
Searching for happiness deep within their minds
Only to find the presence of lonely time

This is a very passionate poem and sadly very true. All too often the wrong people have found their way into power positions. How I wish everyone could forget the negative aspects of their past, not think about who is "wrong" and who is "right", shake hands and just live in peace!
Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
