"Unto us a child is born" as the Bible says. This is a celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ! Setting Santa and Rudolph aside, as Christians, our true and only purpose is celebrating the gift - the birth of Jesus Christ.
It’s our baby’s first Christmas this year! It is a very special time for us as new parents. My only wish this year is for loved ones to set aside their differences if not for themselves, then for the innocent gift we have all been given. We are blessed with this baby and the grandchild that they have longed for over the years of time that so swiftly passed by... Oh, how time flies by.
This year is very special to me as a new mother. But, this year is much different. Loss has been given a new meaning. I thought I had felt it in every which way, until now. We live so close, yet remain so far away in our heart and minds. I often wonder why. My entire life I have wondered why.... My mother could tell you that. I can’t wrap my head around this one. No, not this time and I have stopped trying to figure it all out. There are times in life we may not know the rhyme or the reason.
At first there was fear, then came anger, and now pure sadness has arrived entangled in loss like a vine of roses full of thorns. It kind of reminds me of the way I felt as a child when mom was sitting right there, but she wasn’t really there. It brings tears to my heart for my only child. I don’t want this for him and I won’t have it. This is what hardens a person and I have strived for years to let it not harden my heart, soul and spirit...
The core of it all is black and it is white. It is more than clear to me now, that everyone doesn’t believe the way I do or see life the way I do, how precious it is. That is fine too. All that matters is that I do. And, God gave this child to us to parent and I have to do what I do.
I see how we have been blessed and I feel it and I know it is rare and it is special and it shall never be taken for granted. When I see that sweet baby of mine all I know is that I will keep doing what I do with love, kindness and compassion. Isn't that what Jesus would do? Then that is what I do.
This is Christmas time and what a wonderful time to gather up all your faith in the midst of trials and tribulation. Love others, spread lots of joy, along with a little Christmas spirit to those who lost it somewhere along the way. They may not believe that it matters, but I do.
In my heart I know that one day they will too. That is what Faith is to me. All in all, what matters is what I do and this too shall pass.
A powerful piece of your faith and a beautiful testimoney of the reasons for us to go on and the season.
Thank you for this powerful poem.

The gift of a child is indeed precious and comes from Our Lord. Take care of that child as if it were your own life. God will reward you. I can tell you as a grandfather I dote on my little Nicholas. Victor
