While watching television a young lady calls home to get her moms advice. This sparked me to write.
Longing to Hear
Even if I did not take it
I would still love to hear
The advice of my dear mother
Oh how I wish she was near.
I would love to pick up the phone
and hear her voice at the other end.
The kind words of my mother
brings comfort to the confusion within.
During the storms of life
she helps me to weather every storm.
Oh how I long to be near mother
and rest safely within her arms.
It’s during these times of struggles
Oh how I miss her so much.
Years and years of her teaching
it certainly pulls at the heart
To hear her words of wisdom
it keeps pulling my heart apart.
Our mothers were our comforting shelter from the storms of life...and we who have her not near now...surely miss and remember them when the fears arrives! Beautiful words you have written
