I am thinking how, not just on Halloween Night, but every Night...Jesus stands at the 'door' of our hearts and knocks. And He bears 'treats'...no tricks.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Yes?
Who's there?

Oh, it's You , Sweet Jesus
I thought I heard a knock
thank You for waiting so long
returning again and again
You never stopped

\\\\\
Come in, come in
Oh Master of my soul
sit down share my soup
let me get You a bowl
\\\\\
What's that You say My Lord?
it's Your treat tonight?
You've brought me food
to give me strength
that I might win... this life's fight?
\\\\\

Uhmm-m-m the aroma fills me
its taste I can't describe
it tingles my taste buds
as it anoints my tongue
satisfying my pangs
w-a-a-y down on the inside
\\\\\
I'm so thankful for this meal
You knew just what I'd need
arriving right on time
my hungry soul You feed
\\\\\

Oh no....!
must You go so soon My Lord?
I need Your nourishment !
what's that You say?
You're always near
You're never far away?
if I get weak and feel not strong
just say a prayer or sing a song?
\\\\\
Well, It's good to know
that You're always there!
here, Let me give You my key
no need to knock or wait for invite
walk right on in...anytime
and sup with me!

Regis hit the nail right on the head. God bless you for a strong faith in Him who is above us all but is always ready to hear our call.

Oh, Joyce! I do like this. The pace and movement of this post just slides over you, blessing ones soul with every line. All of your poetry is wonderful, but this is a new Joyce that I see and she is
flat out a fantastic writer!

Excellent invitation and all the more reason to answer that knock on your door

Dear Joyce,

Just a few words of encouragement, just a warm thought or two, just a kind greeting, a fond recollection of all the good things you've done, thought or said... these are a few of the many blessings you so generously bestow through your thoughtful scenario... this brief visit, this comfortable memento of Christ's love and grace is original and extraordinary, quaint and quintessential in its candor and its comforting credibility. May God richly bless you for sharing this Holy Halloween message! May God always find us at home with his ways and his wonders, at home with his blessings and biddings, and at home with his sacrificial love. In giving and in receiving may we always be found in the home that is God alone, always in him, to him, through him be the glory, forever and ever, Amen.

Peace be to you and yours.
Roger

Great poetic lyrics Joyce! The only question is are we ready to accept him as we are? He is ready to accept us, so that is all that should matter.... Amen!
