Drenched in darkness all around devoid of stirring air and sound
crept a beating heart full filled with ambitions strength of will
through the stench of fear discovered within the earth's dirt of cover
searching as each step did make a forward print within the clay
beneath feet that roamed the dark, the hunt before its only mark
came to sight a horrid scene draining courage from her being
the huntress now her goal in sight prying skills, escape her plight
from the menace gun in hand, pointing where she makes her stand
stilling mind now, recognize, what must happen to take flight
with her own life sure in hand from this place of wayward man
quick no force here to employ, scared and trembling and unsure
haste lay waste to goal now set upon her brow with bated breath
cunning, smarter, she must be her only chance here to break free
herself, her life, her mind of right wrapped in shroud of fearful sight
mindful now she makes her move assailing those who cursed her brood
no gallant words or stern deceit, her prowess launches to defeat
those who dared to shame their name, those who boasted then proclaim
their right to rid them of their life, dragging them through endless night
the huntress moves, she overtakes, regains her love from there escapes
back into the dark surround where they can't see or so abound
to stop her flight now from their lair, their chase meets doom on her dare
crushing them beneath the earth where they had buried dreams of her
long ago when weak of mind laid waste to those who search to find
a treasure’s keep in friends to be and depth of love for family.
