The Category in which I write is religious based and inspirational
I started writing years ago, but only ventured to publish twice and received rejections. I didn't try again for a while. It was harder to publish then. There were hardly no self-publishing companies as now, so you basically had to depend on a publisher's eye catching your writing. Last year I decide again to try. I begin to run off my manuscript. Then it sat for a while in my bin for me to look at everyday. Then one day my daughter came over and spied it and said, 'Mom why don't you publish your book? You don't know what you have there.' So I did. I got on line and found a publisher, who would really publish my book without me sending in loads of money, which I didn't have. I didn't expect anything to happen. My book is unusual. It's faith based and about being born again Christians, yet it is also a Christian love story and better yet also about racism, a really big problem we have today. Anyway I sent it in and to my surprise I received a reply a few weeks later that the publisher would like to publish "Color Us Jesus" that is the title of my book. Within 3 months my sister purchased it off Amazon. I was amazed. It happened that fast. I've finished my second book 'God's Grace And Mercy and my third is at my publishers. It is called 'Be Encouraged' my fourth book is being edited. I write because I love to write and I hope to encourage. If I were to give advice to anyone it would be, never think it's impossible. My faith is based on God and with God all things are possible.....It has been three years since my first published book. I have now published four book and working on my fifth and six. Never stop trying.....Katherine B Brown
