The Box
There was a box that was wrapped in beautiful silver paper. The paper
sparkled with specks of glitter. The bow was large and white and so very beautiful. Many were eager to open it. They pushed and shoved to get to it.
Next to it was a wooden box, dull, unpolished and nicked. It had a wooden lid that you only had to open. There were no ribbons, no glitter and no bows. Few noticed it. Few were eager to open it. When the beautiful box was open. It was found to be empty. Only a few went to the wooden box, and when it was open, inside was the gift of eternal life.
Jesus came as one of us, not dressed in royal array.
