Father Time and Mother Earth give their son Hazeus permission to watch the adult rated MVDs which portray the aftermath of his life on the Globe. During the night it is up to Hazeus to assist King Arthur in becoming the most worshipped man in history and in the meantime try and accept responsibility for a growing call to Godhood.
When demigod Hazeus decides to return home from Earth to a parallel magical realm called Rootworld he is given a collection of adult-rated MVDs from his parents, Father Time and Mother Earth. He is on the fast track of becoming the all-powerful God of the Globe if he can learn to take responsibility.
While watching, he interacts with and befriends a young King Arthur and his knights Lancelot and Merddin, sparking hilarious misadventures as Arthur tries to establish his kingdom.
Merddin is always cranky because of the reverse flow of time and Mother Mott just wants a vacation on the Isle of Avalon. Fuzzick the Giant, Tom the Doubter, and other beloved characters try to help maintain order.
But conflict looms as Christianity spreads, threatening the magical pagan world. Arthur must weigh his vows of peace and inclusion against growing intolerance. With Camelot divided, his sister Morgan is seduced by dark magic, endangering Arthur’s life and his vision for the kingdom. To defend his world, Arthur may have to sacrifice himself and use forbidden magic to summon the Great Dragon.
If Hazeus can work out how to own the power of calling the rain and lightning he may just grow up on time. That is if he doesn't make any dumb decisions overnight while his parents leave him alone in the living room.

Lancelot meets Little John at the log bridge.
I moved twice as fast and fortunately ducked the strike before my freshly minted quarter staff whooshed into my grip. I turned a glancing swing at John of my own, which he avoided by side-stepping . Then he leapt onto the log and inched out over the water.
“I thought you said they fight fair!” I called in Merddin’s direction, who was busy lighting his pipe with his fingertips now that the business of making my staff was over. “Took your time about it didn’t you?” I said, aghast at his obvious enjoyment.
“I said fair,” said Merddin as I cautiously advanced onto the log, “I meant well. They fight well! Now go on and have at him. I’m thirsty!” yelled the wizzard bringing a raucous from the opposing shore of woodsman.
I turned my attention back to little John who was now all smiles. I looked down at the rapids and remembered old Dap pushing me onto the wet river stones after an evening of drinking. John inched back further over the rushing white water below but continued taunting.

The Tome of Ages is a very well-written novel that includes an interesting and unique storyline.
If you enjoy science fiction, satire, and adventure, then The Tome of Ages may be perfect for you. This novel forms the second part of the Rootworld Series. The author, Jay Horne, found inspiration in a variety of highly renowned writers, including Christopher Moore and his novel Lamb.
There are a lot of characters introduced throughout the book, which sometimes can get overwhelming. With that being said, the main characters are very well-developed and have great story arcs.
You will be hooked from the very first word in this Arthurian fiction novel. With an easy-to-follow storyline that still manages to offer plot twists and cliffhangers, there is a lot to like about The Tome of Ages.
If you are looking for a book that offers plenty of adventure, as well as a good laugh, I highly recommend The Tome of Ages.
Tolerance, perseverance, and faith
I just finished reading this novel and I must say, " it's a must read novel." l liked the way he combined many characters, eg dragons,wizards, king arthur and holy trinity from different novels and created a story with them. I work with the author and I was amazed that he was a writer, I read some of his writings at work and I was excited to read The tomb of ages when he finished it.
I was very fortunate that he gave me the first draft of the novel and ask me to read it and see what I thought about it.
In the beginning trying to remember all the characters names and who and what they represent in the story was a little overwhelming, but like most novels introduction of characters can be. Once I passed the introduction the pages started to flow like a river. I was finding it difficult to put it down wanting to know what was going to happen next. Arthur going through several trials and tribulations and surviving each of them. The ending was the shocker for me, I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it, your just gonna have to see for yourselves. I believe this book will entertain many, but in the eyes of the faithful believers in the spiritual realm they're faith and tolerance my be tested. Just remember to keep your minds open while reading this novel and not take it so personally and enjoy it like I did. Bless to all and to the writer Jay for writing this novel.
