COLMAR, PA - April 24, 2003 I Care America, a project of the National Heritage Foundation, announced that it has formed the Gulf 2 Casualties Foundation to help provide financial assistance to the families of U.S. and British Casualties who have defended our nation in Operation Iraqi Freedom. I Care America/Gulf 2 Casualties Foundation was formed by George P. Brown, of Chalfont, Pennsylvania, and has appointed a board of review to process applications for grants to families. "I began this foundation after watching the first reports of casualties in Operation Iraqi Freedom," said Brown, the director of the Gulf 2 Casualties Foundation at NHF. "Even though most of us may not be able to directly serve in this cause, we can do our part by helping to support the families of those who have given their life defending our nation." The I Care America/Gulf 2 Casualties Foundation is composed of thousands of individual Americans who are willing to stand up and say, "I Care America, about our soldiers, sailors, marines, and their families, who have fought for my freedom, and paid the ultimate price." With their thousands of small donations, individual Americans can express their support to the surviving families for the loss of their loved ones. The goal of the foundation is to help fill the financial gap that is left after military benefits are exhausted. The organization has a grant application that will be made available to the families of U.S. and British casualties. The National Heritage Foundation is administering all of the funds. Brown adds, "Our hope is to take away some of the financial worries of families that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom."
