I'm wondering why I've been finding weavils in the food stored in my food cupboards lately. I can't recall having this problem before.
In the last month I have thrown out 3 packets of spaghetti because inside the sealed bags I could see crawlies!!!!!!! ewwwww. I know they didn't come out of my cupboards as the bags are sealed so they were in there and hatched after I brought the groceries home. What a horrible surprise when you have cooked a nice pot of spag bol and have the water boiling and find you have a pan full of brown insects in with the spaghetti.
My partner was making rissoles last weekend for a barbecue .. maybe you call them meat patties? He wanted some bread crumbs to bind them with after adding the egg, onion, carrot, sauces etc. I took the bread crumbs out of the cupboard, in a sealed container, and yuckkkkk the container was full of webs and crawlies.
It's not that the food was old either. But all of it has gone out in the garbage and I'm left wondering if it's just the time of year or if I need to change my supermarket. But then I shop at 3 different supermarkets so I'm not sure who to blame.
Am I alone with this or is anyone else out there having weavil problems in my side of the world? I'd love to hear I'm not the only one, I feel so alone with a house full of bugs!
