I know how sensitive people can be so I just want to say this is not in any way critical of fat people.

According to the current issue of Biological Chemistry, research by Dr. Barbara Ehrlich of Yale University shows that too much testosterone kills brain cells.

Another academic giving us food for thought at the moment is Dr. Michael Jacobsen of the Pritikin Institute for Longevity, Miami (F.L.A. as the song goes) who is reported by the South Florida Sun Sentinel as having analysed a Hardee's Thickburger and found this menu item contains 1,420 calories and 107 grammes of artery blocking saturated fat, twice the safe daily intake for an adult. High levels of saturated fat are associated with artereo - sclerosis which of course impedes the distribution of oxygen to the brain leading to a loss of cognitive skills and deterioration of attention span, memory and I.Q.

We can only speculate about the kind of person who would choose such a meal but there's a clue in its name. THICKburger. Some testosterone charged loser who, having lost half his brain cells to the testosterone that makes him think its macho to eat huge meals, is in a hurry to kill off the other half.

Nell;
10/10 and a gold star.

Everyone else: 'scuse us, I'm coaching Nell in british colloquialisms, profanities and slang for her new novel. She was in a right old two and eight when we started, didn't know her khyber from her barnet but now she can do rhyming slang even when she's feeling uncle dick after a night in the rub-a-dub. Rhyming slang; she was in a right old state..., didn't know her khyber (pass)- ass - from her barnet (fair) - hair - ... when she's feeling uncle dick (sick) after a night in the run - a - dub (pub)

Sorry about the blank review, that's what happens when you move the mouse while your finger is still on the button...

Perhaps, good advise and food for thought. However, I hope we don’t start helping over weight people, the way that we are helping smokers. If we keep letting scientist make our laws, pretty soon their will only be perfect people left. The problem with that is, perfect people are really boring.

A Fundruckers is delicious!

I think we die more from bad advice than we do from bad food. I've watched as the years go by and have seen these warnings reverse themselves. For decades, coffee was the bane of those who wanted to stay healthy. Now coffee has become a health food. Fiber was the big thing, so bread makers started putting wood fiber and cellulose in the dough to make it "healthy." Soy was touted as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Now all the benefits from soy have been debunked. Wine was suppose to be good for low BP, then wine makers started putting antifreeze in wine to make it dry AND sweet, since dry & sweet was "in". Cholesterol was the big scare for a while. People weren't told that your body manufactures its own cholesterol, that the tendency for high cholesterol is inherited in families. Folks tossed out any food that cholesterol in it, thinking they were being healthy. Now we are drugged to death with prescription drugs to reduce chloesterol. When that didn't work, the pharmeceutical house experts reduce the base readings so the pharmaseutical houses could sell more drugs to those who now had "high" cholesterol. Margerine for decades was touted as the cure all for the sins of butter. Now we find out trans fats are killers. There are more people over medicated in the world than there are ill people.

Have a hamburger. Screw the experts.
Everything in moderation.

Smooch.

The key to such issues has to be awareness. By whatever lopsided logic some of us like to employ, we convince ourselves that taste and self-delusion are more important that the actual contents of various foods we digest. And then too there is the craving for assorted "comfort foods" in a world where war, terrorism, murder, disease, etc, have become neurotically commonplace.
