A lesson from Sha'Tara...

Hierarchies, Bureaucracies and Dependencies

[voice from the Other Side - Sha'Tara]

What is a bureaucracy?

The supporting apparatus of hierarchy without which it cannot function or survive.

What is the single-minded drive and purpose of any bureaucracy?

To expand and draw power unto itself.

Where does its power come from?

From individual life, wherever it may be found and coerced into the bureaucratic machinery.

Is there any "organization" on planet Earth that is not part of some hierarchy and bureaucracy?

Not a one.  No collective or grouping, however simple, however apparently benign or meaningless can exist without being plugged into some part of the hierarchical bureaucracy.

What about the nuclear family?  Isn't it at least free?

Not at all.  It constitutes the original hierarchy of the planet and as greater ones evolved around it, it was subjected to and swallowed up by those.

The family is the most vulnerable of all bureaucracies and as the world races towards the "oneness" of SUPER - super powers, the family concept is becoming not just expendable, but irrelevant.  Human fodder for news, wars and consumerism can be had without the need of family.  Human children, lost in the morass of insignificance and absurdity can be better suited to the needs of the higher powers without functional parenting.

In the beginning, as history tells it, the man was the recognized head of the household.  Everything that was a part of the household was his property to do with as he saw fit.  Wives, concubines, their children, slaves and everything else, belonged to the patriarch.  He had power of life and death over all - and that is why today government claims that same right, whether this government be religious or secular.

From these patriarchs came belief systems which led to the priesthood; kings which led to organized government over several families, tribes and nations; trade which led to... in time... the World Trade Organization.

It's all there: read it and weep.

Today's observation:  Over the millennia, children have tended to follow in their parents' footsteps, generally emulating them.  Today I saw a grown man (in size and physical properties if not in mind), product of the 80's, skateboarding on the street, followed by his little girl... on her own small skateboard.

We lead by example: how far does a skateboard take a generation?

Duhhhh, I dunno.  Pass me another beer, Sam.

An interesting article. Certainly, there is a truth trapped amidst the lines. I for one, have always believed that the government, no matter which one, is placed in power for one objective alone -- to be the servant of its people. Unfortunately, that is not the case with today's gubernatorial structures. I think our leaders ( should they deserve the right to be called so ) should revisit Russeau's writing. How can we have a "democracy" when a voter can only choose between two parties? A two-party democracy amounts to not much more than a half-totalitarianism. Any trully independent candidate does not stand a chance in today's money/power driven electoral process.

All of this is so very true. What can be done about it? Is war the answer.? No indeed, War changes things but it does not lead to peace. Just as violence and abuse of children and women does not lead to peace in the family. That is a war of sorts. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE pass it on. God is Love; Jesus is Love. We were sent the Holy Spirt to guide us in this Love. People would perfer to listen to Satan rather than the Holy Spirt sent to us thru Jesus who died so men could be free. You go figgure. Is there an other way. We must keep preaching the gospel and withessing to the faith. Marguerite 'lil flower

You sure made some challenging comments, Regis. Last Sunday in Church, the pastor was preaching about the creation of the world, then he had something interesting to say about God regretting He had made man at all. "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart." Will mankind change their wicked ways? Hardly.
Great article...much food for thought!

God Bless

Scary thoughts, but very true. I can only pray that mankind will change their evil ways...at least the 'politicos'. Good article, Reg.

Sad but true. Our form of democracy is more a Republic than a democracy. This means while we have the right to vote it is sometimes lost in the shuffle for power. Man was not meant to own his wife, kids, the world or any part of it. We were given this as a gift. If you read the bible you know that it predicted the downhill run to devastation. Look up, for your redemption draweth near.
God Bless,
Lew
