I got up and fixed something to eat. For some reason I didn't turn on the radio or the TV. Through my apartment windows I could see it was another lovely day in Pittsburgh. I showered and dressed and filled my backpack with books and notebooks, an under graduate again after getting my Associates of Arts Degree nearly thirty years earlier.
On my way to class, the first thing I noticed that was odd was that the stream of students that always flowed toward the Pitt campus was flowing away from it. The campus turned out to be nearly empty.
At a packed bar near campus I sat in disbelief as all the TVs played the planes crashing into the Twin Towers over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and...
