Today is the autumn equinox, an equal balance of night and day...Enjoy the feeling of balance and renewal!

The Autumnal Equinox is marked by the Sun's entry into Libra the Scales. The expressive first half of the astrological year is over and now the energy is in balance before beginning a gradual six-month retreat that emphasizes internal over external development. Today, however, beautiful illusions can distract us from reality as the brilliant Aquarius Moon reactivates Friday's oppositions between sweet Venus and fanciful Neptune.

Question: from a neophyte, When does the astrological year begin? I thought at the Winter Solstice, but is it perhaps the Spring E? You mentioned the "first half of 6 months. In climatology, actually after Dec. 21, the Sun (as observed) begins its slow climb back towards the equator from the Position over the Tropic of Capricorn (back towards our Spring. Oh well, it doesn;t really matter. Just wondering how astrologists view it.
