1-13-08 Sunday School Lesson came from Luke 6:27-36

Look and point upward

A series of parables

 

Biblical - Parable - Comparative - Symbolic? - True

 

Three areas:

a. God Way

b. Try to find common ground

c. The Power of Love - Justice

 

Parable - a heavenly message with an earthy story

 

hear - listen, to what you understand

unto which you hear

Love your enemies

Pray - God's way

Love is the key - the power of love

God, HE is kind to the unthankful and to the evil one

God is no respector of persons

The Holy Spirit is a comforter

God loves the sinner but hates the sin

If the enemy does not repent/confess he/she/they will spend eternity with the devil

Romans 10 - John 3:16 - Salvation

Pray

Job 1:6 - Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

We should protect ourselves, our family(families), etc., who seek to harm us or them.

Wisdom - Discernment

How would you like to be treated if you were sick? Treat the person the same way you would like to be treated.

Unselfish love - don't look for something in return

Children need to make sure they pay attention to their parents - don't be too quick to follow nor want to be in such a rush to be with the crowd(s).

People are not always kind. Some days are just unpredictable and they can attempt to throw you off ---

Keep them at a distance - space for security reasons. Discerning spirits.

Break the cycle - pray - see the error

People should not provoke you neither

Don't be selfish - God will bless you if you help others (but you don't have to tell others you let them tell what you have done for them if they wish to .... then your Heavenly Father, Elohim, which is in Heaven will reward you - if you tell your deeds toward others you have already received your reward)

 

Higher level - Some things have to be dealt with on a higher level

 

Diverse group (maybe could be multi-cultural)

 

Jesus loves us first - John 3:16

Pray (verbally - physically abused) - (Keep some distance/space there)

 

Disarming - To deprive of arms or weapons, reduce materially the military establishment. ................. STRONG LANGUAGE for a Sunday School Book

 

key - stay focused, focus on protecting ourselves

 

Use discretion in distribution of writing

Discerning spirits

misery - distress

Try to work things out with the offender - share the Bible, Sunday School Lesson before a storm, destruction, judgment comes

Watch snakes - don't go too close to them - The Lord shall punish the snake - Psalm 140:3, Psalm 91:13 - thou shalt tread on the adder and poison is under their lips

 

Nothing is hidden from God - HE Sees All.

God will deal with the person who has caused our hurt and law enforcement if they do not treat us fairly.

Be kind to sinners and or people who are not Christians. But you also have to have discerning spirits when dealing with them.

 

God's Way

Psalm 119:105, 129-133

Prayers, praises, and professions of obedience

Verse 105

Thy word is a "lamp" unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

"lamp" - it is ever with me

Verse 129

Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.

Verse 130

The entrance of thy words giveth light: "it" giveth understanding unto the simple.

"it" - Psalm 19:7

Promise - "E" - Everlasting Life and Heaven Promised

The law of the LORD is perfect, "converting" the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

"law" - Or, doctrine (teaching)

"converting" - Or, restoring

Verse 131

I opened my mouth and panted: for I longed for thy commandments.

Verse 132

Look "thou" upon me, and be merciful unto me, "as" thou usest to do unto those that love thy name.

"thou" - Psalm 106:4

Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thou salvation.

Verse 133

Order my steps in thy word: and let not "any" iniquity have dominion over me.

"any" - Romans 6:12

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

 

Romans 6:13

Neither yield ye your members as "instructions" of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness with God.

"instructions" - arms, or weapons
