Now you have a voice and you can speak out. When you get to the point where you can step out from behind the podium and not use notes. Also to be able to think in chronological order in your brain, while speaking in front of an audience and keep their attention. Once you can do this your self-esteem will soar.

Once you have gotten over the fear of speaking in front of an audience regardless of how small it is, believe it or not you will love to be in front of an audience. You will find all kind of reasons to be the leader in whatever you are interested in.

The next step is giving speeches. There are several reasons to give speeches. One could be to sell your book you have just written and is hot off the publishing companies copy machine. Or to give a formal presentation for your employer to sell products from your company you are employed with.

Also, you can speak just for the fun of it. To be able to entertain your audience and just have a great time.

All I can say is once you are in a public speaking class or group your entire personality will change. You will become more outgoing and believe me your self-esteem will burst.

When you are giving a speech always try and dress a step up from your audience. Leave your jeans at home. Nice dress clothes for men or women. It will also make you feel on top of the world when facing the people in the audience.

When you are in public speaking you will learn to avoid the no, no words for speaking. These words are ahs, ums, so, ands and pregnant pauses. Once you are well in tuned to listening for these words either from your lips or other public speakers, you will never be able to listen to a person speaking again with those drastic errors.

A speech needs to run smooth, while using interesting, vocal variety. The idea is to keep your audience awake and interested in what you are saying or selling.
