In 1976, Polish Cardinal Karol Wojtyla visited Chicago, with stops at my old Catholic high school and at my family’s Polish cemetery – my dear old Polish mother was in heaven. He then returned to Chicago as The Polish Pope (JPII) in 1979, and he was greeted by 500,000 people of Polish ancestry – I was one of them.
As for my accomplishments, my Epitaph will simply read: ‘Old Polish Pee Wee - He tried his best to help our Vets and Pets.’
