GREED; CORRUPTION; FRUAD; AND A WORTHLESS CONGRESS are all the ingredients for America to fail, etc. In the latest polls (December, 2011) a high number of Americans, are dissatisfied with where the country is headed. I think that means, that they are concerned about the greed; corruption; and finger-pointing in the country, that will lead to our downfall, etc.

I think many of the countries around are corrupt, and having financial troubles, will be harder for them to get their debt under control.  If these corrupt countries fail...it will be like a domino theroy...as one country will follow the other into bankruptcy.  I am not an econmist, but that's my opinion.  Greed and corruption are everywhere; the real estate industry; the banking industry; Wall Street and even in the Congress!

Who's going to loan money to a corrupt country!

Everyone knows that the state of Illinoise, is the most corrupt state in the country.  Over the last several years, 4 out of 5 governors have been corrupted, and have spent time in prison, etc.

The latest one to be convicted, is the former governor, Rod Blagojevich, who was sentenced in early Decmber, 2011, and will spend 14 years behind bars.

The following newspaper article, was written by Don Barwin of the Associated Press, and the piece was published in the Albuquerque Journal on December 8, 2011.  The headline reads;

"Blagojevich Given 14 Years in Prison,
$20K Fine"

The sub-title reads;

"Ex-Ill. Governor Admits Crimes"
The newspaper reads as follows;

'CHICAGO;  Rod Blagojevich, the ousted Illinois governor whose three-year battle against criminal charges became a national spectical, was sentenced to 14 years in prison, one of the stiffest penalties imposed for corruption in the state with history of crooked politics.

Among his 18 convictions is the explosive charge that he tried to leverage his power to appoint someone to President Obama's vacated Senate seat in exchange for campaign for campaign cash or land a high-paying job.

Judge James Zagel gave Blagojevich some credit for taking responsibility for his actions, but said that didn't mitigate his crimes.  The judge also said Blagojevich did good things for people as governor, but was more concerned about using his powers for himself.  The former governor admittel his crimes and apologized in court earlier in the day.

'When it is the governor who goes bad, the fabric of Illinois is torn and disfigured and not easilyrepaired,' Zagel said.  As the judge announced the sentence, which includes a $20,000 fine, Blagojevich hunched forward and his face appeared frozen.  Minutes later, his wife, Patti, stood up and fell into her husband's arms.  He pulled back to brush tears off her cheek, then rubbed her shoulders.

On his way out of the courthouse, Blagojevich said it was a time to be strong, to fight through adversity and be strong for his children.  He said he and his wife were heading home to speak to their daughters, then left without answering any questions.

But during the nearly 19 minutes that Blagojevich addressed Zagel, his children and what he has done to their lives dominated his plea for mercy.  Because of his crimes, 'I have jeobardized my ability to protect my children,' he told the judge.  'My children have had to suffer.  I have ruined their innoncence.'

The twice-elected Democrat received by far the harshest sentence amont the four Illinois governors sent to prison in the past four decades.  He is the second in a row to go to prison; his Republican predecessor, Gearge Ryan, is serving 6 1/2 years.  The other two got three years or less.

Blagojevich, in a last plea for mercy, tried something he never had before; an apology.  After years on insisting he was innocent, he told the judge he'd made 'terrible mistakes' and achnowledged that he broke the law...even as he maintained that at the time he did not know he was breaking the law.

'I cause it all, I'm not blameng anybody,' Blagojevich said.  I was the governor, and I should have known better and I am just so incredibly sorry.'  But Zagel gave him little leeway.

'Whatever good things you did for the people as governor, and you did some, I am more concerned with the occasions when you wanted to use your powers...to do things that were only good for yourself,"  Judge Zagel said.'"

END OF ARTICLE;

Just another sob story, in the history of these criminals, who lie and deny their way in life, until they have to face a judge.  These people should get a special place in hell, as far as I'm concerned.

America is not to big to go under, and until all this greed by corporate America; Wall Street and the Congress itself...America CAN and WILL go under...

So...not being an economist...the question remains...

Will anybody loan money to a corrupt government?
