What pains do you avoid experiencing? Are you aware of them? What are the core issues that make you sad or angry? What are the behaviors in others that you react to strongly?

We all avoid feeling pain from our childhood! This may be shocking to you. Are you aware of painful childhood issues that as an adult you have avoided experiencing again? Most likely there is an issue within you that you may react to strongly inwardly or outwardly.

These childhood pains that we avoid as adults point to our personality type and our sensitivities as an adult. For example, if your childhood needs (being acknowledged, heard, taken care of) were not met, you probably try to help/care for others so in return you are helped without you asking (if they care about you they will know). You may not want to ask for help, in a way to avoid feeling rejected. You may feel sad when people do not meet your needs.

What pains do you avoid experiencing?  Are you aware of them? What are the core issues that make you sad or angry? What are the behaviors in others that you react to strongly?

Avoiding Pain

Children find a way to survive their transition to adulthood.

Each child may have experienced a different pain.

As an adult, the inner child is doing his/her best to avoid experiencing their childhood pains.

One adult child is avoiding the pain of criticism and being wrong.

One adult child is avoiding the pain of unmet needs.

One adult child is avoiding the pain of failure.

One adult child is avoiding the feeling of abandonment.

One adult child is avoiding the intrusion by others.

One adult child is avoiding the uncertainty of things.

One adult child is avoiding the sense of limitation.

One adult child is avoiding the sense of vulnerability.

One adult child is avoiding the feeling of separation.

Avoidance keeps us in chains.

Break the chain by embracing your avoidance.

Embrace what angers you the most!

Be driven by love not avoidance.
