HISH, HESH, HERM, WOM, WEM and GOY

This is for anyone who has ever been trounced for innocently running afoul of the Political Correctness Police.

Times, they are a changin’, see it every day
Things that used to fly, ain’t no more that way.
Words thought to say either woman or man,
Now cause something nasty to hit the fan.

PC wording brings such awkward dissonance:
‘Woman/man walked on two feet’ — doesn’t dance,
‘Women/men of stature’ — sets tears in poet’s eyes,
Sadness and resignation and repeated sighs.

‘Every Good Boy/girl Does Fine’ — sours the notes,
‘A candidate of his/her word’ — wont bring the votes.
‘He/she should use his/her head’ — dulling to the wit,
And ‘He/she is human, love him/her’ — just doesn’t fit.

So, with all this PC making shambles of the tongue,
How does a poor boy/girl speak and not get hung?
Well, gender-neutral words might settle PC’s hash,
And rid us of words that join with a slash.

Soon the language will be invigorated, strong,
With combined gender words, even with diphthong.
‘He/she’ and ‘him/her’ — just the past’s ugly lore,
‘Her/his’, ‘girl/boy’ and ‘woman/man’ — no more.

The new words, strange, but soon trilled in stride,
Get past PC police, add language rich and wide:
‘WEM of stature’ — lends dignity, inclusive air,
While PC equivalent’s a drab and ugly affair.

‘WOM walked on two feet’— elegant, mighty,
‘HESH should use HISH head’ — quite tidy,
‘A candidate of HISH word’ — it’s appealing,
‘HESH is human, love HERM’ — deep feeling.

‘Every GOY Better Do Fine’ — sans ‘GOOD’
Trips the note scale lightly—no dead PC wood.
So spread the word, man, woman, girl and boy:
HISH, HESH, HERM, WOM, WEM and GOY!
