Young adults, feet still off the ground,

Can let their lives get terribly unwound.

Often they don’t pause to think

Of the implications of a sexual link.    

Consider substantial costs of childcare,

 If unprepared, expect a nightmare,

As each month’s approximate need,

Shelter, clothes, medical and feed,

Transportation to avoid being late,  

School books and supplies to educate, 

Is seven hundred and eighty bucks.

And yes, you’re right, that really sucks!

But play it wrong and you’re on the hook,

Paying dearly for liberties took.

Near ten thousand every year,

Not much left for a lousy beer! 

Nine years more plus an even eight —  

This sum you’re bound to hate —

Nearly a hundred and eighty thou,

Now, ain’t that a bunch for dropping trou?

Didn’t stop when one you had?

Uh oh! Big trouble — so sad.

‘Cause it’s double, triple, quadruple one eighty,

As each new kid you get with your matey. 

So before offspring you must tend,

Take financial advice, young friend:
