I know tonight is going to be good
Since already in early afternoon
I see the moon over my neighborhood
Of course one never knows about the moon
It beams whenever it feels like beaming
Even in afternoon sun and seeming
The free spirit which we know it to be
Sweet girl it makes me dream of you today
It shines up there like you so far away
But I can feel it shine for you and me
When you look up can you see it there too?
It is a sign in the sky to tell you
And a sign to tell me of destiny
Tonight the moon belongs to us alone

Or if it would be better I will drive
All night and day if need be by that light
Which shines to show us we are still alive
