"And instead of death comes the death of fear"

Poem Artwork

Free!

When day and night are one

With neither moon nor sun

When I can find no star

Drowning in the dark with the light too far

Away to bless my distress too depressed

To further fight too heavily oppressed

To float now sinking ready to let go

The will to survive arrives and I know

There must be a reason I am still here

And instead of death comes the death of fear

This is the birth of grace

The dawn before my face

That the light is in me

The everlasting daystar of my destiny

Surprises me rises and I see: I am free!

A companion of the Prophet Muhammad once asked him,
"Who is the wisest of men?"
the Propeht replied,
"The wisest man is the one who remembers death much, and prepares for it."

Steven, thank you for remembering death...

This is most empowering, my friend. In the depth of possible hopelessness you rise up and shine via your verses. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Regis

I don't fear my physical death, but I do fear that I may suffer an eternal death. It is sad that when we die in the death of fear, terror and sadness, others delight in our misery, refusing to take the blame for its cause. Thank you dear brother for sharing this very enlightening poem. Some of us will never be free because we are forced captives of an amoral society.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

Beautiful. The fear of death is the fear of the unknown. I always liked the gospel song, "Known Only to Him." One of the lines is, "I know not what the future holds but I know who holds the future." Your peom is beautiful.
God Bless,
Lew

This does get right to the heart of it. When we stop fearing the end of our life, we begin to 'live' our life. Great way to start the morning, thank you...
