Poem Artwork

Once I was a tiny fragment
of a human
Swimming in the current
of love
A fruit of life if you will
about to
enter my new oval home

I knew nothing of the world outside,
but boy, was I about to get a reality check
of massive proportions.

First few years I crawled and stumbled through life,
not really privy to the back alleys of existance yet.
I knew I was a midget with no rights of my own,
except a roof over my head and a warm home.
A hand to hold when outside I would roam.

Pretty soon I was running, hop skipping, skidoodlin'
through life. A big grin on my face most of the time.
New adventures everywhere I looked and most of them
from my own imagination sprung. I was an archeologist on
a dig in Egypt or better yet searching for lost citys in the jungle.
The trees in my backyard became my jungle and the stone
wall bordering our neighbours horse pen became the
remains of a lost city.

Or me and my friends would play pirates, once again our
backyard held the treasures of three equal sized pile of planks
in almost adjoining rows. A twig from the forest would be our swords
as we would try to board eachothers pile of planks (pirate ships)
I would spend most of my time outside. Those were
magical moments to treasure forever.

The imagination a powerful tool for making something magical even in
trying times. It was a war zone at home, for many years and I often wonder
why I didn't completely break and how I can think of those days as magical times. After all, at 10 or 11 years old I found myself with a loaded
gun to my head, then shoved in my mouth to tear up a peace of my palate, the taste of blood and gun fat in my mouth as I looked up at my dead drunk father, holding the gun and threatening to blow my brains out. It's not exactly what you would think of as idyllic. I can only imagine that my friends, their familys and  our ability to leave the real world behind and make our fantasyworld come alive, is the reason for my still fond memories of my childhood.

Love and light are such powerful precenses in my life and I do not
give any god  the praise for my still bright outlook on life. The power was in me and in my friends and their familys that gave me an example of what safety is, and other supporting adults in my proximity. Also our good swedish well fare system that made it possible to get crisis therapy for little and nothing to pay.

So here we come to the Love-part of my text......
You must have known it was coming, because after all, it's me! I live to write about Love.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Care for the good of the people
Be a beacon of light,
instead of a judgemental shiite (!)

A community will only be as friendly
and safe as it's politics.
The state a powerful parent to
foster it's people to decency

Don't put your foot out to make
your fellow humans fall,
pay that extra tax money to
help them to be able to get
to where they can stand tall

But if you point the finger at
the unfortunates
you might end up creating
the problem

Read the works of Ted Goldberg
open up your mind towards
the notion of a whole state
or nation setting a kind example
Ask yourself the question:
if you were in dire straits,
where would you want to live?

A loving heart is the
common denominator
of peace of mind,
so always be kind
