Everlasting Fire

Poem Artwork

Flowers strewn upon cobble stone
distinctive notes that chill the bone

My soul adrift on cloud of no return
questions the path, answers I yearn

There is a lesson here for me to learn
piece by piece I add to the fire I burn

The web of life tangled in
the web of lies and sin
Forward motion stalled
venture come to a halt
Love is not a game
it is a lasting flame

Walking on broken glass with bleeding feet
lifeblood that will fertilize a new seed

The flames I am tending to, they melt the glass
create the window through wich knowledge pass

Our minds' and souls' combined with our hearts'
thus creating our love from our broken parts'

Walking hand in hand on our bricks off communication
the strongest foundation made by our shared revelations

Strong and free
the future we see
A love so strong
cannot go wrong
Building higher
everlasting fire

A great deal of passion for life in your words of tending the fire.

Nicely done, fire is a good methaphor for love...first the spark, then the flame and the heat but like most fires it does as you expressed in this write it needs to be tended or it could end up in cold ashes.
