Honey bucket lightning strike Hailstones got the best of me Sometimes when I think of you Wild Fire Odyssey Elusive currents running swiftly Circumvent the rocks below Quenching thoughts of heated passion Sequestered by your whirlpool’s flow Glowing embers dot the skyline Impending scorch I cannot flee Flames consume my own inaction Wild Fire Odyssey A wispy drizzle from haze above Coats my ego with ashen crust Soap and water will not cleanse it Remove it though I know I must Roaring cyclone tastes the smoke cloud Essence sublimate’s a hint of me Spits it out in disbelief Wild fire Odyssey Copyright 2010 Patrick Granfors

A lot of mixed metaphors... Full of fire and brimstone and lust. I like.

What strikes me about this is how well it doesn't preach, but rather straighforwardly pounds the guilty...there's incredible force here in these quatrains that wield an electrifying message. The volts stupefy a raging egomaniac from devlish infliction and carnage no more...this honey bucket lightning in the photo looks like it is coming from a snake and Wild Fire Odyssey reverses the charge right back to its maker...there's some Truth here and some Science Fiction which I know you are fond of, Patrick...be well.

Is this something you desert people have to contend with every now and then: lightening; hale stones; glowing embers and wispy drizzle? Well, yeah, Southern California has been having some creepy kind of stuff lately. Hell, I missed a rainstorm by five miles last week while eating in Calabasas when it rained buckets in Westlake Village.
