I heard a shout
a cry for help
so I looked all around
no one was found.
Then I heard it again
and yet again
I looked everywhere
then I heard
'Help, I'm up here! The names Pocket.'
Oh what a sight
did greet my eyes
a man caught by his trousers
in the beak of the giant Fillybuff Bird.
What could I do
I frantically thought
then as the bird swooped low
the mans trousers I caught.
Off they flew
the bird lost its grip
the man fell to the Earth
displaying bare cheeks.
I threw him his trousers
as I did I informed
'The names Pick, how do you do Pocket.'
He grinned hastily put them on
then we both had hurry
as the Fillybuff Bird
swooped in a low run.
It screamed a sound
like train wheels
metallic tinny and loud
an awful noise
setting your teeth on edge
as it flew right over our heads.
From the Fillybuff Bird
we made our escape
ran down a Rabitt hole
where we were safe.
At least till Lord Augustus
the Rabitt came home
no sooner said
than he was home
'Can I help you?'
he uttered his voice like a drone.
'Fillybuff' Pocket said
Lord Augustus nodded his head
'Stupid bird,
needs to have his feathers plucked.
or a hot Chilled stuffed up his other face.'
He laughed as he invited us in
then he offered us some tea,
which he served
with Mushrooms on toast
it was about a ten to three.
Then he gave us a Dog whistle
said 'Fillybuff hates them the most.
drives him really crazy,
and thats not hard to do.'
After a while
of pleasurable talk
we said thank you
then went on our way,
yet he kept thanking us
saying 'What a most pleasent day.'
Pocket was grateful
though his trousers were badly torn
one cheek was shining brightly
in the late afternoon Sun.
As we arrived at No Cross Roads
we shook hands and parted company
but we agreed to meet again
the very next Sunday.
