I have children, Lord
I'm so grateful!
I have grand children, O God
I'm so thankful!
I have great grandchildren
too, Dear Father, and I appreciate
my kindred...full
I have a roof over my head
thank You Jesus, so very much!
When I tire there's a place to lie and
hunger or thirst, sustenance...as such
I have clothes and shoes for my feet
and I have a portion of health
and strength
This entire You have given
and my homage will stand...
eternity's length
But Oh, Master, there's One thing I'm
most grateful for...
having 'You' for a Friend
For what is the worth
of 'possessions' if I didn't know
You'll be there...at its end?
All through the years it's been You
that kept...tended, healed
and restored
When the things I had grew thin
it was You that was there
...Your Love poured
Can't count how many times I fell
while others did laugh and scorn
But 'You' reached and picked me up
brushed off the dirt, removed the thorn
You've dried tears and encouraged
You said, trust...and press on!
When the way grew dark and I couldn't see
You led me to a brand new dawn
O, the errs that You've forgiven
how I've hurt You without a cause
Yet the slate You've always erased
still Loving me...without a pause
I'm grateful, Jesus, that I'm not alone
nor will I ever be
for when corruptible returns to dust
and spirit at last is free
I'll enter Your Celebration
A Thanksgiving for all Eternity!
So Worthy and so Right
I'll not grow tired or fatigued
for when I consider how You provide
and think of all...You Be
it's 'You' I'm ever Thankful for
Because You...First...Loved Me!
