Arlington National Cemetery
Surrounded by many unknown
She sits on a bench of granite stone.
In prayer, she honors one’s sacrifice
Reflecting on his battle of a combat zone.
Running her fingers across his etched name
Realizing his sacrifices were not in vain.
Kneeling down, she traces another
Buried here too, her mother.
Surrounded by bravery etched in stone
She’s at peace and solace in a place known.
Soldiers who fought for our freedom and died
Praying one day, her brother will lay along side.
