Alien Dancer

Earth-bound, with no escape,
she laid her form down,
stiffened, and, star-shorn.
She laid her heart down.
Fragile, with alien grace,
she remembered
timeless depths, and applause
which thundered through space.
Elated, she danced too close,
was captured
by blue-water ghost,
and screamed, as she fell.
Moon-mad, she strove to be free,
paralyzed, she grew to be
grotesqueness unadorned,
cosmic beauty, gone.
One day, a human mind
saw the flicker she held inside,
and placed her in a garden divine,
where, she dances again.
