Laughing As I Flee...

Poem Artwork

A sleek, white-bibbed and pawed,
black, 3 month old cat-creature
is stalking me...

It began
as I leisurely walked to
the bathroom, I spied it
slip in behind me as I was looking
in the mirror, a black blur,
probably nothing, I think,
until I head out...

The rustle of the shower curtain
touches my ears
and I leap
for the sake of my legs,
just in time! Sleekness
misses! But in mid-air
twists, lands, and leaps
for me, again! Ah, but this game has
occurred before, I also twist
and gyrate crazily,
a puppeting dance of
agility and need!
I'm almost caught! So I run,
with white-whiskered blackness
close on my heels,
the outreached claws raised
as he pushes off,
coming at my waist!

I am laughing so hard,
I barely escape and run
into the living room. Big mistake!
Launch pads abound and I see
this missile
shoot off
from the back of the chair,
blackly skinny front legs
flying at me
claw-wide, with it's teeth showing,
I shout,
and catch it in mid-air,
quickly kiss
his open-jawed, ferocious head
and set him down
for more,

laughing as I flee!

LOL!!! Oh, I love this! You drew a wonderful picture. I am laughing so hard. I would love to have seen that. Aren't our "babies" great? What would we do without them, except less scratches of course. LOL But we love 'em, don't we? They're great little companions. House wreckers too, but if they didn't make a mess what ever would we do with all of our spare time? LOL
Loved this!!
Many hugs and laughs,
Jan (Janice)
