Marred Beauty

I've reworked the original poem, 'Marred Beauty' into irregular sonnet form.
Happenstance repressed queenly majesty,
perhaps more cool spring water could have birthed
perfection’s seeds beneath your petaled sea,
revealed essence of crimson's oblique worth.
Appreciate patience, conjoin; see
with a perspective viewed without fool’s will,
earthy naiveté shrived by eternity
cannot trust opaqueness to live fulfilled.
So, flourish in Now, singular beauty,
be shallowed by no man’s obtusing sight,
you’re nature-made; sovereignty delayed;
I extol your timeless right to dull-bright,
if that is your reign. I bow to skirts red,
marred rose, strange… how your beauty fills my head.
