Sun Signs I: Sun-Sad Eyes

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Poem Artwork
Your sun-sad eyes, wisdom-wise, hold holding
Power for those who can see. Sad sun eyes,
Don’t compromise, for it is the hour to bring
The Age of Spring back to the world, kin disguised,

Waiting for abilities to forgive
Craven antiquities of sin. The truth
Is not unviewable, turn your minds in,
Back from blank cliffs to the sun and its worth.

Sad bud eyes, you’ve turned, not only earth’s crust,
But, futures, away from salvation’s face.
For, in the place you’ve chosen to sight trust,
There will be no reflection, just malaise.

My sad sun eyes, if you allow, I will
Bask in your wisdom-lit rays, ever filled.
