When Dragons Fly As Clouds

Frothy fierceness thrusts bold heads of dragons
Back into the skies of Earth’s famous 'thens',
Or, infamous... Is it ridiculous
To ponder forms of mythical might, when
The wings of dragons have left our sight? I
See dragons, cloud-formed, with proud fuselage
Lengths beloved by gods. Dragons, once allies.
A creative, smattering entourage
Of successful completion of human
Repletion in imagination. Yet,
Are we so sure our short attentions spans
Could hold the value of memories debt
Within perspective? I’ve seen dragons. This,
A fact of my mind, which I know exists.

This seems to be the Year of Dragons. I saw this cloud-dragon when I had to leave to pick my daughter up at school. I yelled to my husband to grab the camera, go out front, and take a picture of the dragon, so I am giving him credit for the photo. The next day, I saw two more dragon-clouds, slimmer and with wings, but my older daughter had my digital camera for her last day at school, and I missed an opportunity to capture their images.
The Dragon roams the fantastic where they fly in full regalia and sulforous gratitutde pours from haughty nostrils for a muse has breathed life into them once more.
