camping in a provincial park brought some interesting insights --
poem and incident from 1976
---------------------------------------
In the site across the lane burns
The war beacon, All up and
Down the camping ground the
Bright beacons burn. The foe,
that stealthy foe, Night, has come.
Again and again the beacons flare
Against the unfamiliar dark, that
surrounds us, truant burghers, here.
In the dark, the alien sounds,
Silence, and frogsong and wind in the trees
Frighten our citied hearts. WE
Light the beacons to ward the dark.
The sounds we drown with radio;
The fear we drown with beer...
be careful for the hang over......lol....on the beer side....but the radia is fine ....with nice romantic music and my PC i am in heaven already
