Dream

A dream flows through its nightly course

Shadowed, moving – eddying in the currents

Of the past and present – sifting

And straining the falsehoods from the truths

In the pursuit of a chosen good;

Its very essence oft times trampled

By the imprint of your thoughtlessness,

Ingrained in my dream’s depths, as-to confuse;

Deeply I dream in solitude,

Then ambushed by your vigilance

Free-flowing homage to my wishes – shot through,

My murmuring dream recovers, tries to take hold

My right from your wrong resurfaces;

Your external image, fate not sealed – ashamedly demur,

Dream of another, twilight painting – I’m forever yours . . .

New love, old friends - dream length sometimes breaks

Another opportunity for you to come trickling into -

Always searching for a new dream that will forever hide me.

Beautiful write my friend, yet a bit mystical or mysterious one might say. It seems as though their is a much deeper thought than the pen portrayed.

I know it sounds silly, but when there is someone in my dream that I know close to hand, and I awake before the dream finishes, I wised I could ask that person how it ended. Our daily lives are scripted in a sense, and we have an input, yet who scripts the dreams?
Dreams often contain a bass line that is intrinsic to our lives either negative or positive. This aspect - as has already been observed - threads its way through this introspection.

Indeed, as others have said, a dream that is laced with something more akin to arsenic than old lace!! Much reticence here and almost "payback" - yet the visual is soooo serene! You illustrate what it means in the old adage "still waters run deep" - and ESPECIALLY the deep unfathomable waters of the dreamscape, which, perhaps, in this instance, are somewhat premeditated... Almost a "thriller" here, Tinks!! Whatever... very evocative and atmospheric anyways... Bless you, Darlin. K xx

Special places of solitude and escape are dreams that challenge us to put them to the best of use, reading this poem we can see you have done that perfectly. Spectacular write Tink.

Almost seems as the dream is a metaphor for fantasizing in quiet times you use to 'get away'. Regardless, well written Tinka.

Something deeper under this poem. Its scent is dark and bitter. You make me curious on the motive behind these words written so heartfelt, Tinka!! ;-)
