Good to be back...short-lived because of work load but happy to be here today!
This poem is dedicated to Johnny Mercer, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Gladys Knight and all my fellow Georgians who have given a lift to our hearts through their tunes and a song to drink to when the mood changes.

Sitting here on a dreary day
Listening to the old tunes sway
Piano tunes and nostalgic songs
It’s just the place where I belong
“No No…they can’t take that away ”
It’s a favorite for me….even today
“Don’t let the blues make you bad”
It’s a reminder of days when I lived sad
“Don’t let temptation surround you”
Advice that I heeded a bunch
“Cry Me a River” was one of those tunes
That brought me to tears over lunch
“I’ll be seeing you…
In everything that’s light and gay”
This is a song that gives me focus
In dreams… come what may…
“These foolish things…
Remind me of you”…
Comes on a cloud
Colored in hues
Of blues and grays and fluid tears
From days gone cold in forlorn years
Then best of all and from the heart
Comes “Moon River”
With home and a warming hearth
"Sitting on the Dock of the Bay"
All are watery songs....visuals still gray
But when I sneak on out the gloom
I smell the effervescence of a haunting tune
With aromas of love that abounds this day
The spirit of song takes me away
“I’m taking you home…”
These are the words that are comfort and strong
Belonging is where we all wish to be
It’s where I ‘m secure
With heart in a soul… born spirit free
“This love is nothing like I’ve ever known"
I'm alive in a heart and finally at home
On a tired and lack-a-daysical day…
Music is my savior from days gone gray.
