The ballroom is empty yet life abounds
The energy quickens... with nary a sound
The candle flame flickers...not even a breeze
Then out from the shadows a gentleman's sleeve
With one digit he gestures...barely a twitch
My knees are weakened as my palms itch
Barely a whiff of exotic spices
Lifted my nostrils as heaven enticed me
With hovered ambition I drifted across
He lifted my spirits and my heart was lost
Magnificent dancer
Spirited Muse
Lover of mystery
Passions turned loose
Holding me closer
Exchanging a breath
Opening a heart to see what was left
Resillient as magic with scars all tucked
He climbed on in and zipped himself shut
He's there where I find him when I'm alone
I hum in a whisper ...he's coming home
When the ballroom is empty and nothing much matters
He floats out of nowhere and drifts from the shadows
This man of mystery... whoever he is
I know he's mine and he knows that I'm his.
love's dance always keeps us anticipating the beat of its mysterious momentum ... though at times its ballroom may be empty, we look forward when its elusive song fill our hearts ...

Wow this one is right out of your heart. I felt and heard the music as I read each and every word of this stunning piece. You are a treasue and this poem is one of your very best romantic writes.
"There's allways a dance left in life" So profound and so true.
The subject is so complex, yet your writing is so simple and so beautiful. I can write simple or I can write complex, but I can't seem to write beautiful. I am in awe of your talent. Thank you for this. Pierre.
Exactly the kind of enchantment that music and romance are supposed to provide. Beautiful work.

As long as his breath doesn't stink, and his pits aren't ripe, and as long as he is honorable, and treats you like a lady, the Belle of the Ball, with all respect, I will allow it.
I am watching in the shadows to make sure more beautiful writes will be coming in the near future.
Could see the twirling and hear the music. Great write.
I was told about your mom, while I was away, my condolences and prayers were and are with her and you. Art
