Poem Artwork

I tried to count my blessings
Just a few minutes before
Today was such a tragedy
I just couldn't ignore
The reasons that we love
The chances that we get
The moments when we hold so dear
The hearts we won't forget
The way the world keeps turning
Disasters that can take
Away the ones we hold so dear
In seconds of their wake
Oklahoma bombings
We never will forget
Trade Towers standing tall
Next minute GONE...and yet
Americans persevere
We're brave and still stand tall
Love outweighs the hatred
Faith lives and after all
Love comes above all of these
Its in our hearts...our creed
Tell someone you love them
Its important...plant the seed
Americans are about the love
The hearts that beat so true
Tell the world you love them
For me and them and you
Don't waste another minute
Another second take
Tell someone you love them
Before it is too late.

Thank you, Susan. I second any motion that would spread love of humankind. Your pen bleeds with kindness for all human beings. We wish that some woould look for it and take a bit of it from us.

In "Misdemeanors & Felonies, my new project I have a woman saying, "People you meet as you pass through life. They can very well be dead soon after your encounter, and you never get to know them and they you. Why can't people press hands?" . . . So we are on the same page today, Susan . . . Beautifully done poetry . . .

Absolutely, Susan... This is the flipside that is equally as urgent as the need to find solutions, and runs parallel in our thinking. Powerful visual backs your words and the pace is breathless. I have almost finished a poem in my head that is a spin on a piece by Sir Philip Sydney that does just that! :)) Collective consciousness is a funny thing... This has the headiness of New Year about it... may it be so, not only a new year but a whole new future... somehow... K xx
