It is often kind of depressing to see the last growth dissappear and often it draws us in our minds to equate life with plants, the beauty of that is dear Susan that come Spring when new buds grow...so too can our hearts always sprout again.

You speak of roses, and I internalized it to mean life's journey - all the way to death. Further, it reminded me that my sons died young - ages 9, 11 and 32. They each so loved life. Their spark is gone, but the memory of their beauty will always be in my heart. Thank you.
