A poem I wrote because of a relationship...Tell me what you think about it.

I'm messed up and confused as to what a relationship is supposed to be like...

You give, they take, you give, they take...and when it's all said and done. You're Drained!

You do everything to make the person know you love them more than life itself and they do whatever it takes to step all over your heart and put you on a shelf...

Nothing is perfect, but damn putting up with all the imperfections of someone who doesn't have a clue, jus makes you more confused... and leaving you not knowing what you're to do.

Being all alone is healthy compared to all the trips and snarls a "Best friend" can send you through... They say "I love you"... but it doesn't come from the heart and the realization of that doesn't set in until your heart has been wrapped, twisted and turned in chicken wire... draining all the blood you have that once was pumping for that person only.

If the trust isn't there what do you have other than a way to decieve someone...

So like the song goes... "If you don't know me by know me by now... you will never, never, never know me". If you must hold on to the past... you might as well not try to go into the future with anyone...

You do everything up to what Juliet had done to be with her Romeo, but it's all dismissed as if it never exsist.

 Reviews of "Give & Take"

In my opinion, this is a one-sided love. Perhaps an argument or just a bad day made you look at her in such a negative manner. If this is the way your relationship is day after day, I think you are at a crossroad and need to make a decision to move on.
That's my honest opinion. I hope it helps.

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
