Just simply a poem to my son.

To Son:

DeJon, I will always be your Daddy until the end of time don't you see. We have been as close as the seven months inside your Mommy. Because from the moment you could feel, it was me that you touched, and from that moment I loved you so much.

I gave you the name Maisa, that means; One Who is Loved greatly. Love's the key to success in this life, Remember that! And you will have less pain, misery and strife.

It's my job to teach you to handle all that is bad, and for that reason you'll always call me Dad. For if I didn't teach you the way in this life, then your path would be full of pain, misery, and stife.

God will take you from there and show you the way; it'll be what you've learned that won't lead you astray. So remember we have lessons to learn on this path of life, and it's better to go straight than to be on the road of pain, misery, and strife.

Love can hurt in life as you will see, but if I didn't care to correct you; I wouldn't be Your Daddy.

It's so heartwarming to read of your dedication as a Daddy. There is much wisdom and hope for his future in your poem to your son. What a privilege for him to be named Maisa--I'm glad you gave its definition for us who read. A very moving write.
