Poem Artwork

he came out of africa with a secret weapon;
the greatest tool in man’s arsenal…his mind.
and with every generation he leaves his ancestors
further behind. surrounding himself in laughter and gloating;
bathing himself in arrogance.
with time he hones his intellect
to a sharp, fierce, deadly point.
each revolution round the sun
accelerates change exponentially.
peering into a microscope he searches the
intricacy of yesterday
for the promise of tomorrow.
his mind opens up and shuts down
simultaneously. the past gets ground down
and the future is never found.

Yea, people think they're so damned smart :-)
I hope I understood it the way you meant it but I'm aware that my pessimistic take on the "evolution" of humanity may of colored my view of your work. The point is, I enjoyed reading it. The poem took me on a flash journey through the evolution of wo/man.

Hmm. If that is a description of a human being, I sort of feel sorry for him!
Like the pic.

Fantastic, Sara! You've encapsulated humans, life, itself with brevity of word and magnitude of breadth. I kept thinking "now THIS is how it's done!" Profundity is yours, entirely! This one will linger... katy xox.
