The moon was setting
and the sun was rising
I wanted to catch it
Catch its breath
But I was rushing
A plane was waiting
I had no time for nature’s bounty
I only had a few heartbeats to spare
And to think it was you who said,
“you are a man traveling at 200 mph”
Which of us is really the one moving
toward the speed of light?
I so wished it could all stop
Wished we could love each other
not care for the rest
but time ran out
and it was time for me to let go
I loved the last line in the first stanza - "I only had a few heartbeats to spare." Very expressive. Letting go isn't easy, and sometimes one only has a few heartbeats to spare.
Solid message comes through in and between the lines as well, reminds me of a line from one of my fav 60's songs Cat In The Cradel which was "I'm going to be like you Yea."
If time could only stand still and rhe rest of the world could go away...what's important is the love in your heart...and the thought you communicate so well.

The time, the journey, and the love, are matters for you to deal with, Sara. I found your words captivating and riveting about a major dilemma in your life. Good luck with travel... I enjoyed the "flight." - Bill
oh my..........I posted yesterday with a raven poem, and ran across this very pic............
birds do bring messages.........
the native americans considered them shape shifters........
tricksters...........
maybe the speed of light is all in the flight
wow.......imagine if we could catch the moon's breath......
and keep time.......in our happiest place
this is very deep Sara........
read it twice........
there is much beneath the surface
Great feel for me as I relate to spending alot of time in the air and dealing internally with issues that can usually wait until I'm grounded...if that makes sense...:) P.S.... the playlist on British Air and Virgin beats the food...:)
Good work! Keep writing.
