Poem Artwork

The night was mild and beautiful,
and the air was crammed with love.
It was a scene of an idyllic beauty,
an ideal reminiscent of a Monet painting.

And overwhelmed by the aromas of
the silver moon, as a candle beneath
the serene sky, so did I remained steady
in my deliberation on the transcendent mind.

Ah! Then blew the wind; pale, dark, lethal,
and blind- folded, in accord with its notion
of the democracy - in the land of disparity
aloft the volcanoes of the conflicting ideology.

Helpless was I, just as the grain of sand,
trampled by it’s own sweat on the desert of life.
As an apparition, I turned away from the world,
kissed those desiccated lips and drank myself to sleep.

My Friend it is so good to read you again. I have missed your great talent. The pain in this poem is palpable. I could see the grim reaper waiting to claim more souls. I could feel the pain of those who have been disenfranchised by society. Well written and you have fulfilled the poets job of making the reader fell deeply about what you said.

This is an awesome poem, Bhuwan. Good to see that you haven't met your maker yet. Perhaps you were just depressed?

Love & Light,

Ah yes, with the wind there are no dark corners in which to hide for life's starker realities. Powerfully moving write, Bhuwan. Our collective human legacy of the "haves" turning their backs on the "have-nots" is a deep stain on human consciousness... not to mention our evolution.
A most excellent read.
Peace and Blessings,
Carolyn

THANK GOD! What a relief you're here - funny, I have been meaning to be in touch with Debs re: the latest... it has been quiet since Christmas and my mother is seriously ill. But am grateful for the power of prayer in all things and holding all things together. A searing and blistering write, Bhuwan; it comes to something when the violence is just so stark that it has the effect, conversely, of lulling into sleep. And it is just soooo true... when we are "safe" we can perhaps afford the "luxury" of "hypothetical" philosophical debate... when danger is on every side, the only escape is to "blot out all idealogies" and conjure oblivion. The reality here is where the rubber hits the road. Love and prayers ALWAYS. Kate xx
