Jesus was, among all things, also a Messenger as He brought the Word to Man.

Messenger

At my door knocked a man, poor.
Welcomed in, He sat on the floor.
"Thirst." Brought water. "Please ... more!"
"Can I take you out for food?"
Between meals, I was in no mood
to cook anew. "No thanks. Will you
kneel down, join me, while I pray?"
Knelt by Him. What should I say?
He blessed the water, the day.
My plans, however, went awry.
Strong wind--o'erhead--passed on by,
saw tornadoes in the sky!
Others ran ... hurt. Why not I?
"You've things for Me still to do.
Sometimes others have no clue.
There's a handful, gifted few,
messengers by example.
The time allowed is ample
to share faith, love, a sample,
of what, through sin, folks gamble."
He rose to leave. His bloody sleeve,
where blood once ran, made me grieve.
"I LIVE and will NEVER leave!"
With His Grace ... struggle.
My quest: to serve Him well, pass THIS test.
In His embrace, I'm so blessed.
Everyday I kneel down, pray,
for strength to do His will, way.
If I fail, there's Hell to pay!
Who believes? I cannot say.
He knocked and me He implored
to obey ... forevermore.
Hail to Christ ... God's Messenger.
