Illustrated religious poem in answer to the question, "Where was God?".

Poem Artwork

I Was There

You, in misery, dare ask,
"Where were You?".
I was there.
Tears pooled in My eyes
but, the deed was already done.
I helped many, and they live
but, others didn't heed my voice.
It was up to them ... their choice.

You, disenchanted, addicted, mock:
"Where were You?".
I was there.
Anger rose in my chest but ...
you slid, were already hooked.
I help those who receive Me
and follow My Word, advice.
Choosing is a humane device.

You, who don't know Me, dare smirk!
"Are You dead?"
I'm still here!
It rips My Spirit, Soul ...
your hatred already runs deep.
I've saved many who live well.
If you don't know Me, it's your Hell!
It's up to you!  From all sin bail.
