March 4, 2002 (left retina detached)
We crossed a new bridge today . . .
that doesn’t mean we’ve lost our way.
No usable vision in your left eye;
progressive loss in the right . . .
for a seven year old--what a dire plight!
God’s here to share our journey
in answer to my plea on bent knee.
It is all right to cry. We will get by.
I’ll share with you every sight
when what you see has no sparkle, is but night.
Together we’ll try,
somehow we’ll get by . . .
thankful you’re well.
Crossed this new bridge together
and together we will weather
any and all obstacles in the way.
This isn’t just your solo fight;
we’ll wade through the maze together without fright.
Blindness isn’t the worse thing.
We’ll take whatever the fates bring.
Your are so precious though more tears we’ll cry.
We have strong faith and we believe
our love’s forever . . . more blessings we’ll receive.
We’re thankful for you,
know you’re thankful too.
We’ll weather life well.
March 23, 2003 (right retina detached)
The bridge of vision has fallen . . .
you can't see a thing today;
there's nothing left to do but pray.
The retina was reattached Monday.
Will you see? That's something no one can say.
We did what we thought was right . . .
for an eight year old--without any sight!
God joined us on our journey
in answer to my pleas on bent knees.
It is all right to cry. We will get by.
At least you are all right.
The tunnel of darkness, ebony night,
would cause others to shake in horror; fright.
Together we will,
somehow thrive, get by . . .
thankful you’re well.
We crossed this bridge together
and together we will weather
any and all obstacles in the way.
This is not a solo fight;
we will do what we can to make things right.
Blindness isn’t the worse thing.
We’ll take whatever the fates bring.
Your are so precious though more tears we’ll cry.
We have strong faith and we believe
our love’s forever; more blessings we’ll receive.
We’re thankful for you,
know you’re thankful too.
We’ll weather life well.

Remember to show the e-mail I have sent you this morning to your doctor. I wonder if that can be done.
Modern technology can sometimes do wonder. The deaf cannot hear without a hearing aid. Why can't a seeing device be invented for the blind?
Please be sure to let Doogie's doctor see my e-mail.
Best of lucks!
