One can cry brown eyes blue but the reverse never happens.
God did not give me brown eyes
as He knew they would always be blue.
All the trials and tribulations--
would surely turn brown eyes blue.
Brown eyes have a softer hue,
are more common than blue.
People tend to walk by,
disregarding ones' eyes
unless they're another hue.
Clearly, brown eyes can see too;
mine are washed by cascades blue.
Serving Him is my vocation--
baptized, His initiation.
All eyes are upon me daily.
None can see the tears drip within.
People suffer, I cry.
How can others' walk on by?
It could be me; could be you.
My eyes reflect glorious skies,
look to the Lord for He's wise.
All earthly trials, tribulations,
pale to what Jesus chose to do.
I'm constantly tempted to sin
still ... He opens His heart. "Come in."
Race blind up in the sky ...
no differences noted.
Still, my eyes will be ... forever blue.
Sandra, I love the poem. I don't believe the color of the eyes really makes a difference. It is how we hold life in our hearts, that truly is the perception.
This is indeed different from you, Sandra, but this is very good! I have brown eyes....LOL (((HUGS))) and love, your Texas friend with the Brown Eyes, Karen Lynn. :)

your eyes have seen so much sadness along your road Sandra. I hope the path will lead exactly where you hope it will, I really do. I read your blog yesterday and these greeny hazel eyes sobbed like a baby.
Another gem from you.

Any eye will do in the eye of the lord. Everyone changes from time to time. But who you choose to be and the path you follow is the measure of who you are. Great Job!
Poignant write, Sandy. I think your brown (or blue) eyes will do, just about any genre of poetry, and do it well. (now please tell me your eyes' color. )
